What began as a way to get back into drawing and experiment with techniques in mark-making eventually evolved into a ritualistic exploration of the mundane. As Covid-19 cases began to rise and we entered lockdown, I found myself spending more and more time in front of the same window with the same view. Recording this act of repetition, I drew what was in front of me. Likewise, much like Impressionism, I was inspired by the evolving colors throughout the day. Factors such as seasonal changes, weather, and placement of the sun affected these colors as well as compositional shifts through an altered gaze or a slight movement of my chair. These drawings represent a handful of work from this series.
